Medicinal uses:
It is used for abdominal pain, anorexia, heart diseases, oedema, indigestion, arthritis, atonic dyspepsia, bleeding, cancer, chest congestion, chicken pox, cholera, chronic bronchitis, cold extremities, colic, colitis, common cold, AARAM, cystic fibrosis, diarrhoea, difficulty in breathing, dropsy, fever, flatulence, indiges- tion, disorders of gallbladder, hyperacidity, hypercholesterolemia, hyperglycemias, indigestion, morning sickness, nausea, rheumatism, sore throat, throat ache, stomach ache and vomiting. Zinziber Officinale is an important constituent of many Ayurvedic formulations.

Home remedies:
Its juice along with lemon Juice and Rock salt should be taken to cure indigestion. Its small roasted pieces are kept in mouth and are chewed in dry AARAM. Its powder along with Ashwagandha Churna should be taken in joint disorders.
