Medicinal uses:
This herb is pungent, hot, carminative, hypoglycaemic, aphrodisiac, anti-inflammatory, uterine contractor, mild laxative and lactogenic herb. It is used in fever, diabetes, arthritis, and flatulence. Trigonella enhances breast milk in a feeding mother. The seeds and leaves of the herb are anticholesterolemic, anti-inflammatory, antitumor, carminative, demulcent, deobstruent, emollient, expectorant, febrifuge, galactogogue, hypoglycae- mic, laxative, parasiticide, restorative and useful in burning sensation.
Home remedies:
Its Laddu preparation is widely used by females after her delivery. This herb is beneficial to cure her indiges- tion, loss of appetite and arthritis during postpartum. It is also useful in a postpartum female to increase the breast milk. Its seeds should be taken along with jaggery or water to cure obstruction of the urine.
